Prof. Koch and Dr. Wenzel are honored to welcome Richard Priem at the European University Viadrina on 23 Nov. Richard Priem is professor of management at the TCU Neeley School of Business in Fort Worth, TX, where he holds the Luther Henderson Chair in Strategic Management and Leadership. He is a distinguished scholar in various areas, such as demand-side strategies, corporate governance, and top management fraud, and has published his works in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. Some of you might have read his thought-provoking discussion with Jay Barney in the Academy of Management Review on the sense (or rather: non-sense) of the resource-based view (Barney, 2001; Priem & Butler, 2001a, 2001b), for which he received the AMR Decade Award.
For Richard’s visit, we arranged a program of which especially PhD students are supposed to take advantage, but which might also be interesting for post-docs. In particular, we asked Richard Priem
- to give a talk and lead a discussion on „Dynamic capabilities and the demand side“ to evoke a critical reflection on dynamic capabilities
- to give a workshop on how to publish in top journals and how to deal with reviewers’ comments, and
- to give PhD students feedback on their projects in an interactive session.
