Berlin has recently gained the reputation of being the start-up capital of Germany. Entrepreneurs from around the world flock to Berlin because of its unique institutional and cultural environment. This environment has given rise to new business models and forms of collaboration which have the potential to redefine our notion of entrepreneurship.
In this workshop on Friday, September 16, 2016, we will gather at the Factory, Berlin, Germany´s largest startup campus and co-working space for entrepreneurs. In the morning, we will have discussions with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and founders of co-working spaces about why they chose Berlin for their activities. In the afternoon, participants will meet in small groups to reflect on the preceding discussions.Towards the end of the workshop, groups will report the results of their reflections. The workshop will conclude with a brief summary of the day by the workshop organizers and an informal get-together with the Factory´s community of entrepreneurs.
This Extension Workshop is likely to appeal to participants from several SMS Interest Groups interested in entrepreneurship-related issues such as Entrepreneurship & Strategy, Knowledge & Innovation, Cooperative Strategies, and Behavioral Strategy. Furthermore, the workshop will attract scholars from Berlin universities, the local business community, and media outlets interested in the manifestation of entrepreneurship in Berlin.
The workshop will be hosted by both the European University Viadrina and the German Graduate School of Management and Law.
